It not only offers the tourists to explore the varied art and craft of the county at one place but also set the craftsmen free from the stranglehold of the middlemen. Haat with its literary origins to rural, “Dilli Haat” as an place has been developed which retains the cultural ambience of rural adjusted to contemporary urban needs. With tall eucalyptus tress enhancing the beauty of place, the open air plaza skillfully emerges with brickwork and stone.
From sandal wood carvings to sophisticated fabrics and drapery, metal crafts, brassware , gems etc – you will find exclusive handicrafts here of varied segments. However, over the years, Dilli Haat has become a venue of dance, music, cultural festivals beyond offering some of the finest craftsmanship. All the craftsmen here are registered with D.C. handcrafts this ensuring best of handicrafts at display.
Rotated every 15 days, the place exhibits the special handicrafts from all over India. As the craftsmen are charges a very nominal price for the stalls, the products sold by them here are at reasonable prices which benefits the customers. You can find stalls here for various products like Antiques, Hand Woven Carpets and rugs, Products made from Leather, Woolen fabrics, Traditional Jwellery, Traditional and Suave fabrics, colourful embroidered camels hide footwear and many more.
Amidst shopping, if you have craving for some delicious food, Food plaza here will satiate it to its best with varied regional offerings prepared under strict hygienic conditions at reasonable prices. Since its establishment in a way back 1994, Dilli Haat has come a long way with hosting several cultural programs – First ever Comic being the one in February 2011.
Located amidst various commercial spaces at South Delhi just opposite to the famous INA market, the attraction of Delhi is managed by Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTDC).
There is a nominal fee of Rs 30 for adults and Rs. 10 for children and the place is open seven days a week from 10.30 AM to 10:00 PM.
