The most distinctive part of this temple is its homage to the omniscient and omnipotent Bhagwati Maa Katyayani – the sixth avatar of Goddess Durga.
Shri Durga-charan-anuragi Baba Sant Nagpal devoted his entire life for the service of down trodden people, established this temple in 1974. Shree Adya Shaktipeeth Mandir, known as Chhatarpur Mandir boasts about its architectural splendour blended with harmonious religious activity. Attracting a large number of devotees, especially at the time of Durga Puja and Navratras, the temple holds a great relevance during that time. During Navratras, the temple is decorated beautifully and is celebrated enthusiastically by its devotees. Moreover, this temple observes regular prayers and rituals which are offered round the clock.
During Durga Puja, one needs to wait in a long queue patiently to seek blessings of the Goddess. Sermons and prayers here are conducted 24 hours and anyone can participate in these spiritual meetings. Many temples within the complex are dedicated to various deities like Ganesha, Shiva, Vishnu and Lakshmi.
A museum dedicated to Baba Sant Nagpal encompasses the entire itinerary from medical equipments to clothes used by him during his lifetime. To contribute towards environment, the complex is equipped with the facility if Rain Water Harvesting. Sere ambience covered with lush green surroundings is extended over a large area, making it a classic example of modern temple architecture which embodies extensive use of marbles. A unique amalgamation of structural design from all corners of the country is offered by the temple.
