The Lokhandwala Running Club in Mumbai is a voluntary running group that meets three times week and is open to all!
When you are planning to lead a healthy life, it is always suggested to surround yourself with people who share the same thoughts and goals. And that is well understood by Darshan Divakaran (founder of Lokhandwala Running Club) as the club is a voluntary initiative which anybody, even kids, can join for free. He had the idea of starting the club as he wanted the folks living in the area of Andheri-Lokhandwala could understand and support each other’s goals.
The Lokhandwala Running Club In Mumbai was initiated in 2013 and now the members of the club meet on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays every week at Joggers’ Park. The best part is that it won’t make a difference even if you are a newbie. Just come with all the other volunteers and they will help you through the warm up regime.
The fact that makes Lokhandwala Running Club In Mumbai even more impressive is that every year all the members take the initiative of three charitable causes which like organizing events for underprivileged kids, giving essentials to them and teaching tribal kids in the city.
The popularity of the Voluntary Group has increased as the people from Malad, Juhu, Goregaon etc. have joined it too.
