After spreading its magic in Mumbai and Delhi, Sharing Shelves- an organization that fights against food wastage in India, has finally set up the city’s first Community Fridge in Gurgaon with an aim to provide Food to every empty Stomach and reduce the wastage of Food.
This idea of Community Fridge is not new, these Community Fridges has already been set up in Mumbai and Kochi, and are situated in different parts of the world as well in order to provide food to the needy.
The initiative was actually taken by an IT professional, Rahul Khera, who lives in Gurgaon and is an active member of Sharing Shelves. The Community Fridge in Gurgaon is situated in Sector 54 near the exit gate of Suncity Flats.
We hope the initiative brings a smile on the faces of all those who are fighting hunger and don’t have enough money to feed themselves. We all can be a part of it and introduce more such Community Fridges, to help the poverty stricken strata of the society.
