Yellow Is The Colour For 5th Day Of Navratra. Chant Maa Skandmata Mantra Today

Yellow is the colour for the 5th day of Navratra as it’s the day to worship Maa Skandmata and chant Skandmata mantra. She is also known to be mother to Kartikeya. And this is because she was chosen by the devtas in the war against the demons as their commander of chief. Goddess Skandamata is always seen sitting on the lotus and thus, she is called Maa Padmasini. The other avatars and in which she is also worshipped are Parvati, Maheshwari and Mata Gauri. Goddess is depicted as holding Lord skanda in her right hand as an in infant. She has three eyes and four arms.

Story of Maa Skandmata:
It is said and believed that Tarkasur, a great demon once pleased Lord Brahma with his devotion and tough penance and asked Lord Brahma to make him immortal by showering his blessings upon him. However, Lord Brahma denied his plead explaining him that no one can escape death. Tarkasur –a real demon tried to play smart and twisted his words by asking death by the son of Lord Shiva (thinking Lord Shiva will never marry). The earth started jolting with brutal practices of Tarkasur on the people.  The people at earth got really scared and angry and thus, requested and pleaded Lord Shiva to get married. Lord Shiva, one of the three most powerful devas agreed to them and married Goddess Parvati. They gav birth to Kartikey to accomplish the purpose of people on earth. Tarkasur – the evil soul was then killed by Kartikey. With this Goddess Skandmata became the symbol of the mother-son relationship.  By worshipping the Goddess you will get all your desire fulfilled and love and affection from her.

Colour of the day:
The color for the 5th day of Navratri is Yellow. Although, the auspicious colour for the day is yellow, Maa Skandmata’s favourite flower remains red flower. So, offer red flower to the goddess on Panchami. Dress the goddess in yellow and you can also get dressed in yellow.

Navratri Day 5 Food:
Food in the nine-day long festival of Navratri is very important as it pleases Goddess, and the devotees who observe fast should take it correctly to seek maximum blessings from Goddess. So on 5th day of Navratra banana should be offered to Goddess. For devotes they can take Kuttu ka aata, fruits, juices, kheer.

Chant the Maa Skandmata Mantra while offering puja. This is the mantra to be chanted on 5th day of navratra. The Skandmata mantra is very powerful and helps you deliver your prayers and offerings to Maa Skandmata.

सिंहासनगता नित्यं पद्माश्रितकरद्वया।
शुभदास्तु सदा देवी स्कन्दमाता यशस्विनी॥
Sinhasangata Nityam Padyashritakardya |
Shubhdastu Sada Devi Sakanmata Yashaswani

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु माँ स्कन्दमाता रूपेण संस्थिता।

Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Ma Skandamata Rupena Samsthita।
