Delicious food makes everything beautiful around us. But, one thing, where we all make a small mistake, is cooking quantities more than needed. We have a tendency to cook more and then when it’s time to throw or let’s say, eat the same in the next meal, we pull ourselves. We know it’s boring to eat the same in a row. But, how about eating the same in a different or a better way? Yes, we have come up with a list of 10 Delicious dishes made from the leftovers of the previous day.

Bread Dahi Chaat

This savoury is for the ones who love curd and it would surely entangle your taste buds. Bread leftovers are always there after breakfast. This can turn out to be your snack for the evening. Cut bread slices into small cubes and deep fry them. All you need to do is mix chaat masala, black salt, red chilli powder, sugar and roasted cumin powder with curd. Place the bread pieces on a plate with curd mix along with cumin powder, sev, onion, and coriander leaves for garnishing.

Rice Kheer

Well, this is the easiest and tastiest dish made of leftovers. Just take previous day’s Leftover rice to make this yummy mouth-watering dessert. Just heat 1 litre of milk in a container to boil it and then add the rice with the required sugar. Add dry fruits and cardamom powder for a better taste. Keep stirring till it gets thick and switch off the flame.

Chicken Salad

Most of the time, we cook too much chicken and then it’s a headache to finish it the next day. You can turn your Leftover chicken into a healthy salad. If it’s too spicy, just put the entire chicken with curry in a bowl of warm water to remove the spices. Just add tomatoes, onions, celery, mayonnaise and vinegar in a bowl along with the chicken pieces. Mix them well with salt and pepper. Serve it with the lettuce leaves.

Bread Pudding

As the name suggests, this sweet dish made of leftover bread is very easy to make. Take out the sides of the bread and add the white portion of the bread to the eggs, milk, sugar, a pinch of salt, cinnamon powder and some vanilla essence in a mixing bowl. You need to bake it for around 45 minutes. Now, serve this sweet dish with whipped cream or freeze it for some time.

Vegetable Cutlet

Most of us have an aversion to the vegetables but when it comes to vegetable cutlets, our mouth starts watering. Isn’t it? Just take a mixing bowl and add gram or corn flour with the required spices. Once you’re done, smash the Leftover vegetable curry in a mixture grinder. Make round balls and dip into the mix. Before you fry them, use the crust of the biscuits if you have to give a better grip. Fry them and serve these crispy cutlets with chopped onions and sauces.

Banana Dessert

The Overripe bananas can be used to make this delectable dish. You need to peel the bananas and cut them into slices. Take a saucepan, put a little ghee and add the sliced banana pieces. Saute them till they become sticky. Add the flavoured spices and dry fruits accordingly. Here’s your lovely banana dessert ready!

Chicken Sandwich

If you have some Leftover cooked chicken, then you can turn that into a delicious sandwich. Spread mayonnaise on the bread slices. Cut the tomatoes, onions and lettuce leaves. Shred chicken into small pieces. Now, mix the shredded chicken along with the cut veggies and then put between bread slices.

Homemade Egg Roll

We all know that stale routes taste really bad! But, we have brought you a super awesome dish made of Leftover rotis. Just fry the rotis a bit with refined oil and keep them aside. Cut onions and coriander leaves along with chillies. Make omelettes just with a pinch of salt. Put each omelette over each roti and add the chopped ingredients in the middle and make a decent roll with the addition of white sauce.

Masala Fried Rice

If you have made mixed vegetables and rice for dinner and those are still sitting in the fridge, then you can cook out an awesome dish of it. All you need to do is heat some oil or butter in pan. Add the curry or cooked vegetables. Then add cooked rice to it and give it a quick toss. Add some salt and crushed pepper. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves and onions.

Dal Paratha is yet another easy-to-make recipe which can be made with Leftover dal. You have to use the dal instead of water to knead the dough. Once it is ready, make normal parathas like we do. Have it with a seasoned chutney. It’s delicious!
