Underrated Bollywood Movies Which Did Not Impact The Audience As They Should Have

Every Friday, many movies are released in Bollywood, which makes about thousand movies releasing every year. Some get highlighted because they are actually good, some do crazy amount of business because of the star cast while some are lost in the crowd in spite of being extremely meaningful. These forgotten movies are exactly what we are focusing on. Here are some underrated Bollywood movies which had everything from story to direction to perfect acting, but still could not create the necessary impact!

Mission KashmirThe unsuccessful business done by the movie makes us wonder what people actually want! The movie had everything – a meaningful issue, a storyline, compelling performances by Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Jackie Shroff, and soulful music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s simple approach to highlight the Kashmir issue could not make an impact as it was supposed to.
SangharshSangharsh was a partial depiction of Jonathan Demme’s ‘Silence of the Lambs’, in which Ashutosh Rana actually gave us goose-bumps in the character of ‘Daya Shankar’. With equally good performances by Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta, the movie was appreciated back then but has been forgotten now.

ZakhmThis was the movie which brought into notice the exceptionally good acting skills of Ajay Devgan, and we’ll forever be grateful for that! The movie also showcased a powerful performance by Kunal Khemu as a child. The movie revolved around the religious issues at a time when the situation was sensitive.

FizaRevolving around the identity of a modern Muslim, the movie showcased captivating performances by Hrithik Roshan, Manoj Bajpayee, Jaya Bachchan and Karishma Kapoor. The movie was not a blockbuster and the issue of the movie was lost after Kaho Na Pyaar Hai being a commercial hit.
15 Park AvenueA person suffering through Schizophrenia was beautifully portrayed in a heart-touching performance by Konkona Sen Sharma. Shabana Azmi, in the role of her elder sister, hugely supported the story with a strong performance. The movie was based on a very significant concept but maybe people did not understand the emotions behind it.

SeharAfter Ram Gopal Verma showcased the reality of Mumbai underworld, Sehar was also made displaying the clashes between the criminals and Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh. The movie gave us the best performance by the utterly talented Arshad Warsi along with strong performances by Sushant Singh and Pankaj Kapoor.

Bas Ek PalThe movie was a beautiful depiction of the scarred relationships of a group of people after an unfortunate incident affects them. The movie was very genuine in its emotions and the characters did not choose the easy way out. But apparently, the audience did not appreciate the genuineness.

KhakeeSome legendary actors like Amitabh Bachcan and Ajay Devgan, along with brilliant music by Ram Sampath’s – that was Khakee for you! It was a complete commercial film, but unfortunately was not a blockbuster.
